A Few Random Reflections

Race riots on the streets of Baltimore. Fun times. Much like when the Occupy Wall Street cretins were occupying parts of my beloved Gotham, I cannot help but think back to a more civilized and noble age, and dream of a more civilized and noble response to such blatant sedition.

I can see it now; a troop of impeccably-uniformed Light Horse, riding to meet the riffraff, their cuirasses and sabres reflecting the sun, resplendent as seraphim come to fight the forces of Satan himself. The signal is given, the trumpet blares, and scores of horse accelerate into a gallop as sword-arms are extended and lowered and cries of "God, King, and Country!" fill the air. Sensing the impending doom, much of the rabble flees, and what's left of the villainy melts away before the charging mass of horse and steel. Would that I lived in such an age!

On a slightly more serious note, the irreparable damage done to race relations in the US by his administration and cheerleaders in the mainstream media will undoubtedly be Obama's most significant and lasting legacy, a legacy this country may very well never quite recover from. The Narrative has become so central to his presidency, and the left has been so effective in spreading this myth that many people, both black and white, seem to be under the impression that America is one giant Birmingham, Alabama circa 1962. It is of course utter nonsense, but even if it were remotely true, it still wouldn't change the fact that the sort of economic and social policies favoured by Obama and his cronies have done far more damage to the daily lives of black Americans than any set of Jim Crow laws ever did.

But, seriously, if the left really believed #blacklivesmatter wouldn't they support charter schools and stop, question, and frisk policing policies?

Upon being reminded of his sin, the civilized man feels shame and desires to better himself, whereas the barbarian feels anger and desires to debase his surroundings. Behold, the reactionary and radical in politics.
