A Chorus of Caricature

If the early years of the second decade of the twenty-first century are to be remembered by political historians, they should be marked as the period in which the progressive left completed its spectacular descent into a complete and utter state of farce. The left has become a gross parody of itself; countless mainstream left-wing writers (and politicians and talking heads for that matter) peddle narratives and opinions so ridiculous that were a man of sound mind to encounter their screeds out of context he would be convinced he was reading a piece of conservative satire.

The most obvious manifestation of this phenomenon is the seemingly ubiquitous cries of racism that echo throughout progressive publications and between progressive activists. No longer satisfied with myths spun around racial profiling and stop-and-frisk policies or lop-sided racial historical narratives, progressives have undertaken the apparently easy task of finding racism everywhere they look. 

It's not only murky situations like the Trayvon Martin incident or even crystal clear, yet racially-charged, incidents like the Michael Brown shooting that earn the charge of "racist", but even the most mundane events and interactions are also frequently touted as evidence of deep-seeded racism in Western society. From hotel toiletries, to eating three square meals a day, to tipping, there is apparently barely a single facet of daily life that isn't marked by the stain of racism. Recently I discovered that even a tex-mex-related pun accompanied by an image of maracas is the ink-and-paper version of a Klan rally.

The other most visible area in which leftist opinion has firmly entrenched itself in the arena of the absurd is gender and sexuality. That so many seemingly educated and intelligent people actually believe three-way same-sex marriages, giving hormone therapy or even preforming surgery on "transgendered" prepubescent children (or anyone, come to think of it), and women carrying their gay sons' test tube babies is in any way "progress", is disturbing to say the least, not to mention a damning indictment of the sorry state of most modern individuals' moral compasses.

Prevailing progressive consensus on gender and sexual identity has become so completely unhinged from reality that many liberals are able to hold simultaneously conflicting opinions without the faintest recognition of their logical disconnect. We're told that nearly all manifestations of femininity are false constructs courtesy of The Patriarchy, imposed on innocent females at birth. Yet if it is indeed the case that all traditional notions of womanhood and gender roles in general are inventions of society, how then can any man who wants to be/thinks he is a women and enjoys what are considered to be traditionally feminine interests and pursuits actually have been born that way?

This apparent transformation of the left into a grotesque parody of itself shouldn't be surprising. For all their rhetoric and promises of Utopia, progress, and the perfect Men, the cursed ideologies spawned by the Jacobins were never really as concerned as much about creating something new (and viable) as they were with destroying what was old. Therefore, although the notions that a man can be born with a female gender identity and that female gender identity is a false construct of society are entirely at odds with one another, they are propagated simultaneously by the left because they are both entirely at odds with all traditional, conservative ideas of gender and sexuality rooted in Natural Law.

This is why leftists who would be foaming at the mouth in a fit of rage were I to suggest that say, for the good of their souls, homosexuals not act on their sexual inclinations, will stay absolutely silent when presented with evidence of Muslims putting homosexuals to death. The driving concern isn't furthering "gay rights", it's destroying traditional sexual morality in Western lands. Likewise, the left's preoccupation with race isn't about making material or spiritual life better for ethnic minorities, but rather the complete de-Europeanization of Western culture.

The Left's prevailing ideas and opinions do not derive their value from their feasibility, viability, practicality, or even desirability. Their value to the Left lies entirely in their effectiveness in furthering the destruction of traditional, Western civilization.
